Duleep Trophy is one of India’s premier red-ball tournaments, which takes place once every year. It is a four-day cricket match competition which is played to start the domestic season for India. The Duleep Trophy is a key tournament for the players who are willing to breakthrough in the Indian cricket team. The very first edition took place in 1961–62, and it is played in Zonal format mostly.

10. Mohinder Amarnath
Mohinder Amarnath has been a great servant of Indian cricket and was part of the 1983 World Cup winning team. He has played for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy and featured in most matches in the tournament’s history. In 31 games, he has scored 1692 runs at an average of 43.37, with the best of 207. Mohinder has also scored three centuries and eight half-centuries in the tournament, with 47 wickets as well.
9. Lalchand Rajput
Former Indian coach Lalchand Rajput has one of the best stats in Duleep Trophy history. He played for East Zone and West Zone between 1984 and 1993. Overall, he played 18 matches in the tournament and scored 1705 runs at an average of 63.14. Rajput slammed five hundreds and eight half-centuries with his career-best FC score (275) in the Duleep Trophy.
8. Robin Singh
Former Indian all-rounder Robin Singh has also played a handful of matches in the Duleep Trophy. He has played 25 matches for South Zone and has scored 1721 runs at a decent average of 46.51 with a best of 155. Robin has scored six centuries and eight half-centuries in this tournament. With the ball, he has taken 30 wickets in this tournament to showcase his all-round skill.

7. Mohammed Kaif
Mohammed Kaif is a notable name who has represented India over 120 ODIs and has had a decent amount of success. Kaif has had very good outings in this tournament. He played 21 matches for Central Zone and scored 1827 runs at an excellent average of 67.66. He scored six hundreds and 10 fifties with a best of 202 not out.
6. Sunil Gavaskar
Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar, who was the first ever batter to reach the landmark of 10,000 test runs, also had a good Duleep Trophy record. The Little Master played 22 games for West Zone and scored 1859 runs at an average of 61.96. Gavaskar scored 6 hundreds and 8 half-centuries, and his highest score in this tournament was 228.

5. Aakash Chopra
Former test opener Aakash Chopra has played for a couple of teams in this tournament. He has represented the Central and North Zones and is the fifth highest scorer in Duleep Trophy history. Aakash has played 24 games and scored 1918 runs at an average of 53.27 with a high score of 205 not out. The former opener has six centuries and 53.27 half-centuries to his name.
4. Ajay Sharma
Not many would know about this name, but Ajay Sharma has represented India in ODIs and Tests between 1988 and 1993. He couldn’t take his domestic success to international. In domestic circuit, he has 10120 runs at an average of 67.46. In the Duleep Trophy, he played for North Zone and scored 1961 runs in 26 matches at an average of 57.67 with a best of 202. Ajay had seven hundreds and nine half-centuries in this tournament’s history.
3. Aunshuman Gaekwad
Former opener late Aunshuman Gaekwad also had quite a good career in first-class cricket, and he played over 200 matches and scored over 12,000 runs. He has scored the third-highest runs in Duleep Trophy history. Gaekwad played for West Zone and featured in 26 matches, scoring 2004 runs at an average of 52.73. He scored nine hundreds, which is the most by a batter in the Duleep Trophy, along with four half-centuries.
2. Vikram Rathour
Former Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour was known to be one of the finest batters in the Indian domestic circuit, but his international career of six Tests was unexpected. He played 146 FC games and scored 11473 runs. In the Duleep Trophy, he is the second-highest scorer with 2265 runs in 25 matches at an average of 51.47. Vikram played for North Zone and had six hundreds and 11 half-centuries.

Former Mumbai batter Wasim Jaffer holds a legendary FC career. Be it the Duleep Trophy, Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, or any red-ball domestic tournament, he will be among the top scorers. He also scored the most runs in Duleep Trophy history. Jaffer played for West Zone and scored 2545 runs in 30 games at an average of 55.32. He also had 8 hundreds and 13 half-centuries (most 50s in the tournament) with a best of 173 not out.
