The domestic tournament of Indian Cricket, Duleep trophy is all set to embark on its new chapter in 2024. This year is about to change the way this domestic tournament looked in the past. In the recent announcements the BCCI has decided that the tournament will no longer be played in the zonal formats and four teams will compete in the season 2024.
Talking more about the Duleep Trophy 2024, the BCCI said that the India based team squads will be selected by the national selection committee. And the old six zonal teams will take a leave from the tournament legacy.
Gone are the days of zonal clashes; this year, the competition features four teams – India A, India B, India C, and India D – battling it out in a round-robin format. The change is aimed at providing more competitive matches and opportunities for players to showcase their talent.
As the tournament gets underway, all eyes will be on the next generation of Indian cricketers vying for a place in the national team. With the likes of Shubhman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the Duleep Trophy is poised to be a breeding ground for experienced as well as young cricketing heroes.

Duleep Trophy 2024 Teams and Captains
There would be a total of four teams who will be participating in the Duleep Trophy. This year in place of different zones, teams would be seen competing in the tournament. The four teams that are featuring this year are team India A, India B, India C and India D. Although the team’s captains for this season are yet to be released. Traditionally a proving ground for India’s red-ball talents, the tournament is undergoing a significant overhaul. The round-robin format, replacing the previous knockout structure, promises intense competition as players vie for domestic supremacy and, potentially, a spot in the national team.
As team Men In Blue is preparing for the upcoming crucial test series at home and abroad and also the world Test Championship, the Duleep Trophy can function as the added platform for current and upcoming stars to bring out their performance and talent.

Duleep Trophy 2024: Venue
The Duleep trophy 2024 tournament will take place on two different grounds in Andhra Pradesh. The first venue for the Duleep Trophy is the Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur. Here a total of 2 matches would be played between the India team A vs B and also between the Team A vs Team D. Following these matches the second venue for the tournament is the ACA ADCA Ground, Anantapur where remaining four matches for the 2024 season would be played.
