On 22 May, the Lucknow Super Giants will take on the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, in the 64th match of IPL 2025. Gujarat, led by Shubman Gill, presently sits atop the table and has already entered the playoffs with an aim for a top-two finish. Oppositely, Lucknow, led by Rishabh Pant, are out of contention for this one; hence this match would not hold much significance for them.
Now, on to some key player battles to keep an eye on.
Rishabh Pant vs Prasidh Krishna:
Pant has hardly enjoyed his season with only 135 runs in 12 matches at an average of 12.27. He now faces Prasidh Krishna, who tops the bowling charts. Pant has been dismissed by Krishna twice in six T20 innings, though he retains a respectable strike rate of 147.61.
Sai Sudharsan vs Ravi Bishnoi:
This is going to be a battle between the Orange Cap holder Sudharsan and leg-spinner Bishnoi. Bishnoi hasn’t taken many wickets recently, but he has deceived Sudharsan once in two T20 innings. Sudharsan’s strike rate in these encounters is 177.77.

Nicholas Pooran vs Rashid Khan:

He’s a bit out of form lately, suddenly faced by Rashid Khan, who’s been tough to hit. In their 12 meetings, Pooran has made scarcely 87 runs with a strike rate of 120.83 and has been dismissed thrice by Rashid.
Shubman Gill vs Avesh Khan:
With over 600 runs this season, Gill is having an awesome season, and Avesh Khan is one of the key bowlers for the Lucknow franchise. Interestingly, Avesh has dismissed the young technician on three occasions in the eight T20 encounters, and Gill’s strike rate against Avesh remains 122.22.

Shardul Thakur vs Jos Buttler:
This might even be the last occasion that Buttler plays for Gujarat before he sets off for the national duties. The Rajasthan opener is in the pink of form with 500 runs to his name this season, but Shardul Thakur has dismissed him twice in the IPL, which should provide some relief to his team.
