The 9th ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place from June 1 to June 29, 2024. This tournament, organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC), will be hosted by the West Indies and the United States. It is the first time the T20 World Cup will be held in the United States and in any other part of the Americas besides the West Indies.
This edition will feature 20 teams, up from 16 in the previous tournament. The teams include the two hosts, the top 8 teams from the 2022 World Cup, the next 2 best-ranked teams, and 8 teams that qualified through regional tournaments.
The 20 teams will be split into 4 groups of 5. The top 2 teams from each group will move on to the Super 8 round, where they will be divided into 2 new groups of 4. The best 2 teams from each Super 8 group will reach the semifinals. The final will be held on June 29, 2024, at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. England, the 2022 champions, will defend their title.
Matches will be played at 9 venues: 3 in the USA (Florida, New York, Texas) and 6 in the West Indies (Antigua, Barbados, Guyana, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad & Tobago). Teams finalised their squads by April 29, 2024, and can make unlimited changes until May 25. Warm-up matches will occur from May 27 to June 1, involving 20 teams.
