This will be taking place in Australia, and they have not beaten India at home in the last two attempts. Australia tour of Sri Lanka (2 Tests)
The reigning World Test Championship winner Australia will travel to Sri Lanka for two test matches. These games will be played in January and February 2025, just ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The schedule for two tests has yet to be announced.
Champions Trophy 2025 (Pakistan)
The two-time champions will then take part in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan. Australia won the Champions Trophy in 2006 and 2009 and are searching for their title. They finished seventh in the last two editions, so they might look good this time around.
The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to be played between 19 February and 9 March 2025, and eight teams will play 15 matches. Australia are drafted in Group B with England, South Africa, and Afghanistan. Below, we will share the proposed schedule for Australia.

World Test Championship 2023-25 Final
If we look at the current scenario, Australia and India are two strong contenders to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship 2023-25. Australia are currently in second place on the WTC table and have five more test matches to play and two tests against Sri Lanka. Australia need to win four out of the remaining seven tests to qualify. If they qualify, they will feature in the WTC final 2023-25, which is scheduled to take place between 11 and 16 June in England.
Australia Tour of West Indies 2025 (2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is)
Just after the WTC final 2023-25, Australia will tour West Indies for a multi-format series. These two teams will face off against each other in two tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. The test series will be part of the next WTC cycle 2025-27, so it will be important. The schedule for Australia’s tour of West Indies 2025 has yet to be announced, but it will be played between June and July 2025.
South Africa Tour of Australia 2025 (3 ODIs, 3 T20Is)
In August 2025, Australia will host South Africa for six white-ball matches. This series will be important as in 2026, there is the ICC T20 World Cup in India. Both teams will play three ODIs and three T20Is. The schedule of South Africa’s tour of Australia 2025 has yet to be announced.
Australia Tour of New Zealand 2025 (3 T20Is)
Australia then will head to New Zealand, where they will face the Black Caps for a three-match T20I series in October 2025. India Tour of Australia 2025 (3 ODIs and 5 T20Is)
