CWI names a 16-man squad for T20I series against Australia as Andre Russell returns to the team after missing the Ireland series. Two new players, Jewel Andrew and Jediah Blades, have been selected.
The squad is almost the same as the one that went to Ireland for the three-match T20I series last month with a few changes. Shai Hope will be the captain and will be joined by other T20 players like Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, Brandon King and Rovman Powell.
Russell was missing the Ireland series as he was playing for the Los Angeles Knight Riders in the MLC 2025. Besides the experienced international players, CWI has also selected Andrew and Blades who have not played for the national team before.
Andrew, a young batting talent from the West Indies, has played 3 ODI matches. So far the 18-year-old has played 10 T20 games. Blades is a left-arm fast bowler who has played 14 T20 matches. The 23-year-old also played an ODI for the West Indies against Bangladesh in December 2024.
