The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has just announced the team for the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. This is a pretty strong lineup. The series consists of two matches, and it will be Najmul Hossain Shanto’s first as captain in the new World Test Championship cycle against the Lankans.
One of the major stories is that experienced keeper-batsman Litton Das, along with fast bowlers Ebadot Hossain and Nahid Rana, have returned to the side after some time away. The last Test appearance of Litton, a brilliant bat, was in early December 2024 against West Indies. He has so far played 48 Tests, scoring 2788 runs with 4 centuries and 17 fifties at an average of 34.
Ebadot too had been away from the scene with his last Test in 2023. He has played 20 Tests, grabbing 42 wickets at an average of 47.1. He was instrumental in their memorable Test victory against New Zealand in January 2022. Nahid Rana joins the squad after missing the second Test against Zimbabwe.
