Currently, Bangladesh is in Sharjah for a T20I series with the Emirates. At first, the plan was to play just two matches, the first on May 17 and the second on May 19. But the Emirates board even added another match on May 21. This provides a good opportunity for the young Bangladesh side, led by Litton Das, to limber up ahead of their impending five-T20I series with Pakistan immediately after this UAE tour.
Bangladesh won the first match of the series rather convincingly. Setting a target of 191 runs, Parvez Hossain Emon’s blazing century scored off 54 balls was something to behold. Then the bowlers stuck to their jobs to dismiss UAE for 164, taking the series lead.
Mustafizur Rahman is not going to feature in the last two matches due to his commitments with DC in the IPL, but there are plenty of other gifted players in the Bangladesh team striving for their turns to prove themselves. The team also went with interesting selections for the first T20I, dropping Shanto and Soumya Sarkar in favor of the younger lot. There may be some changes again for the next ones while UAE will be looking to bounce back.
