The Bangladesh cricket unit has kicked off traveling arrangements to the UAE, where it will play a quick two-match T20I series against the host. In May 17 and 19, the Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host both games. The series is the first T20I meeting between the two teams since September 2022.
These teams will be found playing T20I matches towards the latter part of this year in December.
These matches will actually serve both teams as important preparation towards their upcoming men’s T20I Asia Cup 2025. BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury mentioned that this series is an essential part of the preparation toward a busy calendar ahead, including the Asia Cup happening in India later this September.

Subhan Ahmad, COO of the Emirates Cricket Board, added that it is very exciting for him and the UAE to host Bangladesh saying that it is a wonderful opportunity for UAE’s aspiring players for quality competition.
This series comes close on the heels of India’s recent cancellation of their tour to Bangladesh because of some tensions between both countries. Bangladesh’s last T20I series was back in December 2024 against the West Indies and they achieved a clean sweep, winning 3-0 under the captaincy of Litton Das

. Meanwhile, the UAE team won the Gulf T20I Championship held in December 2024 for edging out Kuwait in a nail-biting final in Dubai.
