Asia Cup 2025’s fate is uncertain due to the political issues between India and Pakistan. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will meet in Dhaka on July 24 to decide what happens to the tournament.
Sources in Sports Tak say BCCI has asked ACC to shift the meeting from Dhaka. India is supposed to host Asia Cup 2025 but many fans want to boycott the tournament and not play Pakistan.
India hasn’t played cricket with Pakistan outside of major tournaments since 2012/13. Public calls to boycott Pakistan in Asia Cup came after Pahalgam terror attack.
Sportstak reports BCCI is under pressure from sponsors and broadcasters to play in Asia Cup 2025. Broadcasters want India to play Pakistan because that match brings in the most money.
Border issues erupted between India and Pakistan in May 2025 and Indian Armed Forces conducted Operation Sindoor after Pahalgam terror attack.

IPL 2025 was put on hold for a week due to these border tensions and now there are demands to cut off all cricket ties with Pakistan.
Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to start from September 5 and end on September 21. Recently BCCI delayed a series against Bangladesh to 2026 as they didn’t get permission from Indian government to travel to Bangladesh.
