DDCA has released the rules and structure for Men’s and Women’s Player Auctions for Season 2 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL T20) which will be live on Fancode. The auctions will take place in New Delhi on July 6 (Men’s) and July 7 (Women’s). They will decide which players go to which teams for what should be a bigger and more competitive league.
To get more talent, DDCA has said that there is no age limit for participating in the auctions. Players of any age, as young as U-16 cricketers, can be picked by teams. The hope is to find future stars and be open to all ages.
DPL T20 Season 2 – Men’s Player Auction Rules
Total Auction Money per Team: Rs.1.5 Crore
Player Types:
• Top Players – Players who have played for India or in the IPL (19 players)
• Type A – Former IPL (with DDCA) and First-Class DDCA players (35 players)
• Type B – DDCA U23, U19 & U16 players (105 players)
• Type C – Local League players (361 players)
Player Retention Rules:
• Each of the six existing teams can retain one player from any of the four types.
• If a team retains a player, money will be deducted from their auction money based on the player’s type as below:
Money Deducted from Auction Money by Type:
Top Player – Rs. 21.00 Lakhs
Type A – Rs. 10.00 Lakhs
Type B – Rs. 4.50 Lakhs
Type C – Rs. 1.50 Lakhs
Right to Match (RTM) Rules:
• Each of the six original teams gets one RTM card during the auction.
• RTM can only be used for players in Type A, B or C.
• RTM cannot be used for Top Players.
• New teams cannot use RTM cards.
Player Choice for New Teams:
• The two new teams can pick one player from the players left after the original teams retain their players.
• The choice can be from any type: Top Player, A, B or C.
• Money will be deducted from their auction money based on the player’s type (as above).
• The team with the higher amount will get to pick first.
DPL T20 Season 2 – Women’s Player Auction Rules
Total Auction Money per Team: Rs. 75 Lakhs
Player Types:
• Top Players – Players who have played for India and former IPL/DDCA players (7 players)
• Type A – DDCA First-Class players (18 players)
• Type B – DDCA U23 & U19 players (34 players)
• Type C – Local League players (96 players)
Player Retention Rules:
• Each of the four teams can retain one player from any of the four types.
• If a player is retained, the team’s auction money will be reduced as below:
Money Deducted from Auction Money by Type:
Top Player – Rs.10.50 Lakhs
Type A – Rs.6.00 Lakhs
Type B – Rs. 2.50 Lakhs
Type C – Rs. 1.00 Lakh

Some of India’s top cricketers will be up for auction. In the men’s auction over 10 IPL players—Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni, Harshit Rana, Himmat Singh, Suyash Sharma, Mayank Yadav, Anuj Rawat and others—will be there.
