England’s premier bowler, James Anderson, considers India a strong team ahead of the five-match Test series commencing on 20 June at Headingley. According to Anderson, India still has a strong team despite missing some big names and undergoing transitional times.
Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli recently quit the Test format, leaving the team looking towards the youngsters and Shubman Gill taking over as the captain while the batting line-up remains a bit up in the air for India.
Anderson says that India still has some exciting talent and a strong side to go with it, even without Kohli and Sharma, and that the series should be a good one, just like in 2022 when the series was a lot of fun and was drawn. I feel this one should be the same,” he said. “India is going through some changes, but they’re still a strong side with some really exciting players. England is trying to play a certain style and that makes for an exciting series.
Anderson is a terror, having taken more wickets-fewer than 150-for India than any other team in a span of 21 years in 39 matches. He has been with England on some notable victories, but also has seen his share of defeats against India especially away.
