Delhi Capitals are undergoing some tough testing as star South African batter Faf du Plessis has withdrawn from IPL 2025 for the rest of the season while another South African, Donovan Ferreira, has also stepped down from the season. Given that Mitchell Starc and Jake Fraser-McGurk have already withdrawn, it is perhaps a pretty challenging situation for the DC to field overseas players.
There are actually only three overseas players now in DC: Sediquallah Atal, Tristan Stubbs, and Dushmanta Chameera. Mustafizur Rahman has been brought in to replace Jake Fraser-McGurk, but he still requires clearance from the Bangladesh board, so his availability remains questionable.
An even greater gap, fewer overseas players, might prompt DC to look elsewhere for replacements. They still have an outside shot at the playoffs, sitting at 13 points after 11 matches, so they will be hoping to shine in the upcoming fixtures.
