Sunrisers Hyderabad have brought Harsh Dubey in as a replacement for an injured Smaran Ravichandran for the remainder of IPL 2025. Interestingly, Ravichandran came into the picture for Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa when he injured himself earlier. This was shared on IPL’s social media.
Harsh Dubey is an all-rounder from Vidarbha and will be joining the team for INR 30 lakhs. He is a left-handed batter and a left-arm orthodox spinner. Dubey has played 16 T20 matches, scoring only 19 runs but taking nine wickets. In First-Class cricket, however, he has been very impressive: almost a century of wickets in just 32 innings, with an average of 19.98, eight five-wicket hauls, and two ten-wicket hauls, marking him as a vital asset for Vidarbha.
His List-A record is solid, too, with 21 wickets in as many as 20 games and an econ rate of 4.67. Alas, this season shall be the one where Smaran Ravichandran shall not have the chance to wear the colors of the Orange Army.
This has been a rough outing so far for Pat Cummins-led SRH in IPL 2025, having won just thrice in ten matches. They started well with a win against Rajasthan Royals but failed to keep the flame alive, getting thrashed heavily in many others. They are currently placed ninth in the table and shall take on mighty Delhi Capitals tonight in the next match.
