Big news for Indian cricket fans! JioHotstar has grabbed the digital rights for streaming the India-England Test series of 2025, which means all five Test matches will be streamed live on the JioHotstar app and website. The new World Test Championship cycle will be inaugurated on June 20, when India takes on England. The BCCI has already named the squad, with Shubman Gill leading along with major names, such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, being unavailable since they both retired from Test cricket earlier this month.
JioHotstar has signed an agreement with Sony Entertainment Network, holder of the primary TV broadcast rights for England cricket matches in India. Hence, under this arrangement, although Sony will telecast the matches on its TV channels, JioHotstar would be in charge of digital streaming.
The deal was finally inked after almost a month of negotiations. An official announcement should be forthcoming. Plus, the tie-up continues into 2026 when India will again be touring England in a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and five T20s to be streamed on JioHotstar.
