There has been quite a lot of frustration at Kolkata Knight Riders since this 120-minute rule was introduced by the IPL. KKR has maintained that had this been a rule earlier in the season, they would have at least contested the play-offs. Furthermore, Mysore questioned the timing of the announcement, wondering why it was revealed on the 20th of May when the league had already been in full swing from the 17th of May.
Mysore observed that it would have been more practical if the teams were informed before the league start, or at least on the day of the restart. In his email to the league, Mysore mentioned the need for uniformity in the rule changes during the season, especially with the rains affecting the matches.
For those who do not know, IPL was bringing in this extra time to complete a match in situation of rain delay. There was a May 17 game between KKR and RCB that Mysore said got abandoned because of rain. Mysore intelligibly stressed that the weather forecast had clearly indicated a risk of rain, and that with the new window of extending the time now available, at least a five-over game might have been played.

He asserted he was disappointed over the situation and that the way points were treated was one of the biggest factors to their playoff hopes on the line.
