The New Zealand team has called up Kristian Clarke for the first time ever, and the cricketer is going to join the ‘Black Caps’ squad just before their third home ODI against the visiting Englishmen. Since the experienced pacer had suffered a left calf strain at Seddon Park in Hamilton a couple of days ago, this has led to Clarke’s inclusion in the New Zealand team for the injured Matt Henry.
On October 31, Henry will be returning to Christchurch as he could not recover from his injury.
Kristian Clarke is about to make his international debut with NZ
The promising fast bowler from Northern Districts, Clarke is now careerwise very much close to his international debut with New Zealand in their upcoming third ODI match against England. He has been included in the New Zealand squad in place of the injured Matt Henry, the fast bowler has already been ruled out of the team because of a calf injury.

It was only a day after Clarke’s brilliant performance of 3-57 against Central Districts in the fifth match of the 2025 Ford Trophy in New Plymouth that he was selected for the New Zealand team. Moreover, he had scored an electrifying century in the match from 107 balls with nine fours and five massive sixes to complete a remarkable all-round performance.
Kristian Clarke, a hard-to-handle pace machine and an aspiring all-rounder, has so far claimed 52 wickets in List A cricket from just 30 innings at an impressive bowling average of 26.55. He has also taken 72 first-class wickets and another 22 in 19 T20 innings to accumulate 146 wickets across all formats since his domestic debut for Northern Districts back in March 2022.
However, New Zealand has already secured the series with a 2-0 advantage, and thus the third and last ODI against England is scheduled for Saturday, November 1 at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington.
