Bangladesh’s latest T20I skipper, Litton Das, has said he can take on the responsibility to lead the team to Pakistan in May; however, he does stress that the Bangladesh Cricket Board must consider if it is safe to do so. This terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, has brought India-Pakistan tensions into play now.
Following this, in retaliation, the Indian army launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan, leading to renewed hostilities and cricket going on a hiatus in both countries. The Indian government has put the IPL on hold till April 21, while Pakistan has suspended the PSL indefinitely.

From May 25 to June 3, 2023, Bangladesh is slated to play the five-match T20 series in Pakistan, with fixtures to be played in Faisalabad and Lahore. There will be a couple of T20s in the UAE prior to that. The BCB met with the national team players for the first time at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium to discuss the matter and seek their opinion regarding the tour.
However, if the board gives the go-ahead, I am ready to lead the team. Everyone knows why cricket in Pakistan isn’t happening right now. I think BCB can take the right decision about the Pakistan trip. Boards will talk amongst themselves and keep things moving ahead for the series. If BCB thinks it is safe, we are definitely going to play,” Litton told the media.
