Moeen Ali will not be available for any further IPL matches in 2025. The player played six games this season for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Meanwhile, the KKR contingent is waiting to hear from West Indies batter Rovman Powell, who is in the UAE attending to an injury.
As the IPL 2025 gears up for resumption, KKR will be hurting in its overseas contingent. Reports have come in saying that Moeen Ali has opted out and with Rovman Powell’s injury, he might be out too. If so, at least one short-term replacement is being contemplated by KKR, for potentially dropping two overseas players.
Having to win the remaining two matches of the opening round in IPL 2025 is of utmost pressure for the defending champions, KKR, who has so far won five out of 11 matches and lost six to draw sixth on the points table. The tournament resumes on Saturday, May 17, with KKR meeting RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. If this match slips their hands, their playoff dreams will almost certainly be dashed.
