Some good news for Delhi Capitals: Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman has secured a short-term No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). This implies that he will be able to represent the franchise in the remaining three league matches, scheduled between May 18 and 24, 2025, following his commitments to the national team.
Mustafizur was roped in as a replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk, who could no longer participate due to injury. The left-arm pacer, feared for his death bowling, will surely add to Delhi’s hopes of a good finish. Now present in the UAE, he is preparing for the T20I against UAE to be held on May 17 in Sharjah. According to BCB reports, he will play in that game and then head to India to join the Capitals for their match against Gujarat Titans on May 18.
The BCB had issued a statement confirming the issuance of an NOC to Mustafizur so that he can play in the IPL during that week. His arrival is extremely vital with Delhi still struggling for a playoff berth. But since the NOC ends on 24th May, he can feature only in these three last matches; if the team qualifies for the knockout stage, they won’t have him.

Mustafizur is hopeful good news for Delhi Capitals, who have been losing players in recent times. Mitchell Starc and Donovan Ferreira both declined to return due to personal reasons. This happened soon after the temporary suspension of IPL following escalated tensions of the India-Pakistan border after a terrorist attack on April 22.
