On June 12 the Netherlands made history by chasing down 370 against Scotland in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. This is the 3rd highest ODI chase ever, beating India’s record of 360 against Australia in 2013.
It was a record breaking day at Forthill in Dundee where George Munsey of Scotland hit 191 off 150 balls with 14 fours and 11 sixes. Captain Matthew Cross was good support, adding 150 for the 5th wicket. Munsey scored 191 of Scotland’s 369.

Facing such a big target the Netherlands didn’t back down. Openers Max O’Dowd and Michael Levitt got 67 in under 10 overs. The real turning point came when Teja Nidamanuru joined O’Dowd; they added 111 for the 5th wicket and got the Dutch back in the game. O’Dowd finished with 158* off 130 and Noah Croes added 50 off 29. The Netherlands chased the target with 4 balls to spare.
This is the first time the Netherlands has chased down a target over 300 in ODIs and in doing so they set new records, beating India and England’s records. England famously chased 361 off the West Indies with 8 balls and 6 wickets left.
