There was no emergency meeting at the BCCI on Thursday, said secretary Devajit Saikia, adding that it was too early for any decision to be taken regarding the future of the Indian Premier League. Security issues caused the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals to be called off at Dharamsala, which raised concerns for the league amid the ongoing tension.
Dispelling the rumor, Saikia said, “We didn’t have an emergency meeting yesterday. The day has just started. We’ll look at the situation and decide about the IPL as the day goes on.”
The match, which was in its 11th over, was stopped with Punjab at 122/1 because of the floodlight failure. It had started later than planned on account of rain. Fans from a nearly full stadium (80% of its 23,000 capacity) were evacuated from the ground on safety grounds. Many of them, while exiting, shouted slogans against Pakistan.

India had reportedly retaliated with drones against Pakistan’s efforts to strike at military installations at the time of the intermission. Prabhsimran Singh’s 50 came off 28 balls, while his opening partner, Priyansh Arya, had 70 off 34 before getting dismissed when the match halted.
Players and staff from both teams will be transported by a special train for Delhi from Pathankot, which is about 85 kilometers from Dharamsala, and they will travel to Pathankot by road. On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense also reported that Pakistan tried to hit military targets in varying locations of Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, and Pathankot on the night of May 7-8. As a precautionary measure, the local airports in Dharamsala, Kangra, and Chandigarh are still closed.
