A little bit of a scare had the entrancing batter during the first Indian training before their Test series against England. While the team, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, engaged in their warm-up activities, Pant was hit hard on his left arm while batting.
The squad had just reached English soil, and their first attempt was to practice at a cricket ground in Beckenham. An intense session in which Pant got harmed, with a sudden pain shooting up his arm. The team doctor rushes in to treat him with an ice pack, and Pant leaves for recovery, with his arm bandaged.

The injury was nothing much to worry about, and Pant laughed it off while walking away from the ground, saying he is fine. He has been a batting wizard and an influential figure for India in Test matches, carving a niche with such moments as the one at Gabba.
