India’s Paul Reiffel and England’s Richard Illingworth will umpire the match on the field as Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka will be the match referee for the Champions Trophy final here on Sunday between India and New Zealand.
One of the on-field umpires for South Africa’s Lahore semi-final against New Zealand was 58-year old Reiffel, a former Australian fast bowler with over 200 Test and ODI wickets.
Former England left-arm spinner Illingworth, 61, participated in the last-four match between India and Australia in Dubai.
The four-time ICC Umpire of the Year, Illingworth also officiated in the Americas T20 World Cup and the final of the India 2023 ODI World Cup.
He was also the umpire in the group stage game India won by 44 runs against New Zealand.
In Dubai, India won four wickets over Australia to advance to the final; in the other last-four match, New Zealand best South Africa by 50 runs.
