A six-wicket win against the CSK team by Rajasthan Royals last night was the closing act of the IPL 2025 season. It has been a rather poor run for the Royals this year, finishing ninth with four wins in 14 matches. Nonetheless, there were definitely a few shining moments that the Royals can build on for the next season.
1. Rise of Vaibhav Suryavanshi
In a strange twist of fate, young Vaibhav Suryavanshi could capitalize on his big opportunity only because of the injury to Sanju Samson. This 14-year-old right-handed batsman became the youngest centurion in IPL history. He was one of the few highlights for the team this season, exhibiting a great opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Having Suryavanshi will certainly allow Samson the freedom to revert to his favorite number three position next season. Vaibhav has scored 252 runs in just seven innings at an average of 36 and with a strike rate of over 200; he will certainly be a key player to watch out for in IPL 2026.
2. Dhruv Jurel justifying his price
Young batter Dhruv Jurel was retained by Rajasthan for a princely sum of INR 14 Crores. People were surprised since he had only managed 347 runs this season at an average of just 23. But Jurel proved the doubters wrong as he ended up third on the team’s run charts. He demonstrated that he could modify his game to different situations with some impressive performances.

3. An Aggressive Indian Pace Attack
Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma led the pace attack for the Royals, but injuries forced backups to be called into action. Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh had an opportunity to display their abilities. Madhwal did start quietly, taking no wickets in his early games, but he bounced back well against CSK. Yudhvir also showed his mettle in the upset over CSK, taking three wickets in the final match. Even if the Royals lost ten games this season, one thing that really cheered them up was their pace attack.
