Sanju Samson has had a bad run with injuries lately, and this has adversely affected the Rajasthan Royals in their quest for triumph in the IPL 2025. Just a while back, the mood in their camp was great after Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s exemplary century led them to a scintillating eight-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans, who were all set to post a daunting score of 210 with 25 balls to spare.
It seems like they will likely be without their talisman for the coming match against the Mumbai Indians on May 1 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur. It all began when he sustained an abdominal injury while playing in the Super-Over against the Delhi Capitals on April 16. Since that match, Samson has remained off the field and has been unavailable for key matches against the likes of the Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and finally the Gujarat Titans.
At this point, he is still recovering, and whether he will be fit is a matter of wait and watch. The Royals intend to conduct a fitness test on April 30 to see if he can resume and take the field. The fans are wishing for good news because getting him back would undoubtedly improve the team’s chances going further in the tournament.
