In recent days, a lovely post was shared on Instagram by Rishabh Pant, who is LSG captain and vice-captain of the Indian Test team, for his teammate Nicholas Pooran, who had the shocking announcement of his retirement from international cricket at 29.
Handsome men in their prime, one whose decision shocked the entire cricketing fraternity, Pant was one of those standing by him through this hard time.
Pant posted a picture of Pooran and himself chatting on Instagram, with sometimes emotional words: “You’ve made your mark, bro — really one of my true teammates, a friend, a powerhouse. Proud to have shared the field with you. Congrats on everything you’ve done for West Indies cricket. Wishing you all the best for what’s next. Respect always.”
Such lovely words show the bond they have despite having worked together only this year. The good news is that Pooran will still get to play in the IPL, as he will only walk away from international matches.
