Rohit Sharma put the horror run behind him and scored the much-awaited century on Sunday, February 9, in the second ODI against England at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. The batting maestro also scored a mere 31 runs in three matches during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, putting him under immense pressure.
Into its second match, the format has helped Rohit into a resurgence in international cricket. For two runs in the first match, he would hit his 32nd ODI century in his second match. With this, Rohit rode past Dravid in vital records in international cricket.
Rohit surpassed Dravid on the list of players with the most international tons. This was his 49th century across the three formats, taking him beyond Dravid. Thus he is now at number three of the most tons by an Indian batter in international cricket, after Sachin and Virat.
