Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins have been pushing for the World Test Championship final to be moved from England but it seems like their pleas have fallen on deaf ears. According to a report from Telegraph.co.uk, the ICC plans to keep the finals in England for the next three years.
This despite India showing interest in hosting the final. Discussions have been ongoing about rotating the venue but it seems like England will host the finals in 2027, 2029 and 2031 with an official confirmation expected at the ICC’s annual meeting in Singapore next month. One of the reasons for this is that ticket sales in England are guaranteed to be strong.
So far all three WTC finals have been held in England, 2021 in Southampton and 2023 at the Oval. 2025 final will be held at Lord’s but there’s no word yet on where the 2027 final will be held though Lord’s is a likely choice.

Before the match Cummins had suggested that the final should be held in the country of the previous winner. He said, It’d be nice if the last winner could host the final but having it at Lord’s every time is also a good option.
Before the 2023 final between India and Australia, Rohit Sharma had spoken about wanting the final to be played elsewhere, questioning why it has to be held in June right after the IPL. He had said, It can be held at any time of the year and anywhere in the world, not just in England.
