Young Indian cricketer-the one in the far corner, Ruturaj Gaikwad-has signed for Yorkshire for this County Championship season. The club has already given out a communique that he shall be fit to play in their upcoming fixture against Surrey and shall be attached to the side for the reminder of the season.
The management at Yorkshire is confident that Ruturaj’s experience will truly assist the team in what they feel has turned out to be a difficult season. According to Gavin Hamilton, General Manager of Yorkshire Cricket, Ruturaj’s all-round skills will be a big plus going into the second half of the season.

In First-Class matches, Gaikwad has so far appeared 38 times, scoring 2,632 at the average of 41.77, with seven centuries and 14 half-centuries. The youngster has been even more successful in white-ball cricket, scoring 4,324 List-A runs in 83 innings at a phenomenal average of 56.15.
