Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian cricketer, believes that Shubman Gill and Team India will beat England with a score of 3-1 in the upcoming five-match Test series. The first match kicks off at Headingley in Leeds from June 20 to 24, with the other games held in Birmingham, Lord’s, Manchester, and The Oval.
Tendulkar, India’s top run-scorer in Test cricket and part of the last team that won a series in England back in 2007, shared his thoughts with ESPN Cricinfo, stating, “I’ve got India winning 3-1.” Shubman Gill, who has scored 1,893 runs in 32 Tests, was named the new Test captain on May 24 and is ready to lead the team.

Tendulkar advised Gill that he shouldn’t get caught up in outside opinions. “His captaincy, whether he’s being too aggressive or not enough, is really just opinions from outside. What matters is what’s discussed in the dressing room and sticking to their plans,” he said.

As Gill bats at No. 4 in the series, Tendulkar reminded him that every role is important. “Even batting at 6 or 7 is valuable. Everyone has expectations of him, which means they trust him. He just needs to be himself, stay focused, and give it his all. I’m sure he’ll make an impact.”
