India hopes captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma find form for Wednesday’s 4th T20I as they look to win the series.
India is 2-1 up in the 5 match series but England showed India’s weaknesses in the last game at the Oval and won by 5 runs.
Shafali looked good with 47 off 25 and Harmanpreet 23 off 17 but neither could sustain it which hurt India.
Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur have been doing most of the batting for India. They could really use some help from these two experienced players.
Shafali really wants to do well as she hasn’t had a big score since she came back to the India team 8 months ago. She scored 20 and 3 in the other two games.
Harmanpreet who didn’t play in the first game due to a head injury played in the second and third game and scored 1 and 23. Harleen Deol played well in the first game and scored 43 off 23 in Nottingham and helped Mandhana get going.
India’s spinners N Shree Charani (8 wickets), Deepti Sharma (6) and pacer Arundhati Reddy (4) have been great in this series getting wickets regularly. But left arm spinner Radha Yadav and pacer Amanjot need to do better as they have been leaking 8.5 and 9 runs an over in the last three games.
England need to improve their batting if they want to level the series 2-2. They scored 171 for 9 with Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge scoring fifties but the rest of the batting order collapsed after 137 for 1 in the 16th over.
