Dhawan has retired from Indian cricket. He announced his retirement on Instagram. Known for scoring runs, Dhawan was India’s mainstay in ODIs.

In T20Is, Dhawan played 68 times, scoring 1,759 runs at an average of 27.9, with 11 fifties. In domestic cricket, he played 122 First-Class matches, with 8,499 runs at an average of 44.26, 25 centuries and 29 fifties.
