Punjab Kings had a great IPL this year, they reached the finals for the first time in over 10 years. With Ricky Ponting as coach and Shreyas Iyer as captain, many new players made a name for themselves.
PBKS opener Priyansh Arya was one of those young talents who got noticed for his batting. He recently spoke about Captain Iyer.
Iyer led KKR to a trophy in IPL 2024 and Punjab Kings to the IPL 2025 finals where they finished as runners up.
Iyer’s leadership is clear in IPL and domestic cricket. His captaincy matters in tough situations. Arya told ANI that he thinks Iyer is a top leader.
“You have seen Captain Shreyas Iyer. He won the KKR final last year. I think he’s one of the best leaders in cricket,” Arya said.
Arya’s batting impressed after his IPL debut against Gujarat Titans. He scored 475 runs in 17 matches including a century against Chennai Super Kings. Now Arya is looking forward to a good Delhi Premier League season with Outer Delhi Warriors.

“I feel I should win as many matches as I can for my team. Every player feels responsible for their team’s wins. I felt that way with last year’s team too,” he said.
Outer Delhi Warriors are all set to debut in Delhi Premier League this season and want to make a mark with their team.
