Sneh Rana provided the match-winning performance, with five wickets, including three in one over, which turned the match in India’s favor. In doing so, she became the first Indian woman ever to have a five-wicket haul against the South African women. The closest before her was Deepa Marathe, who had done so with four wickets against South Africa way back in 2005. Asha Sobhana had also taken four wickets in 2024, Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Yadav had each taken four wickets against South Africa in different matches of 2018.
