Hasan Ali is back at it and former Pakistan bowler Sohail Tanvir is thrilled about it. After Hasan’s impressive performance against Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 2025, where he took 4 wickets for 28 runs, Tanvir couldn’t stop praising him. He even hinted that Hasan could make a return to the national team if he keeps this up.
Talking to a local sports outlet, Tanvir didn’t hold back his thoughts. He mentioned, “Hasan is really on point in both the early and late stages of the game. He started strong and maintained that energy throughout his spell.” It was clear that Tanvir was really taken by Hasan’s rhythm and focus.
It wasn’t just about the wickets for Tanvir; he was excited to see the energetic, aggressive version of Hasan that fans haven’t seen in a while. He added, “It’s fantastic to see Hasan back to his old self, full of aggression and control.” So what does Tanvir think is the key to making it back to the national team? He summed it up simply: stay fit, keep performing, and the chances will come. He emphasized that the national team is open to any player willing to put in the work. Pakistan cricket is inclusive, and if you stay consistent, you’ll get a shot to wear that green shirt again, he noted.

Don’t forget, Hasan Ali isn’t just any bowler. He was the star player during Pakistan’s incredible Champions Trophy win in 2017, where he took 13 wickets and was a major factor in their success. Tanvir reminisced about that tournament, saying, “He was outstanding and played a crucial part in our victory.”
But it wasn’t all praise for the current state of cricket in Pakistan. Tanvir didn’t shy away from addressing the poor injury management within the system, especially in light of the mishap with Ihsanullah. He said, “The PCB really needs to get its act together regarding injury prevention and management. Players often get hurt because of bad workload management.”
Speaking about Ihsanullah, he mentioned, “He had surgery for an injury he actually didn’t have. This sort of mess is just unacceptable, and I’m sure there are plenty more cases like this one.” Tanvir drew attention to how countries like India and Australia have much better systems in place, both in terms of medical support and fitness training. He said, “If you look at how India and Australia run their National Cricket Academies and medical teams, it’s clear how far behind we are.”
In the meantime, Hasan Ali is really turning heads this season with his game for Karachi Kings. If he gets the right support and keeps putting out consistent performances, we might just see one of the best comebacks in recent cricket history. It’s exciting times ahead for fans and for Hasan himself!
