It is now only a matter of 10 days before the India Vs England Test series starts, but already the Indian contingent is hard at work to get accustomed to the English weather. With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli absent from the squad, the team will be led by young Shubman Gill. The first Test of the five-match series is from June 20 at Headingley, and after a tiring IPL season, the team is really working hard to come back into shape.
On Monday, they had their second net session, and a video surfaced with captain Gill facing none other than Bumrah-The boss bowler from India. All eyes were on Gill as he prepared for his maiden Test. Bumrah’s bowling was challenging, especially with the windy conditions, and Gill was peppered with a few of them. Gill had left the first ball that swung away, got caught off-guard on the second that nipped back, and then seemed a little nervous trying to defend it.

It has been 18 years since India last managed a Test series win in England under Rahul Dravid’s captaincy. They have since suffered three successive series defeats there while drawing the last series in 2021.

With Rohit and Kohli gone, this is a great opportunity for Shubman Gill to exhibit his talent and lead the team to a triumph. India could have an advantage this time, as England would be without some key bowlers for the First Test, really presenting India an opportunity to strike first.
