After the Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a win against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Monday, the players decided to have a little fun at Virat Kohli’s expense in the dressing room. RCB took to social media to share a funny video of the moment. Tim David, known for his playful side, started it all when he snuck one of Kohli’s bats from his kitbag, all while the rest of the team looked on.
Kohli, usually so sharp and focused, took a moment to realize something was off. In the video, he is seen checking his kitbag and scratching his head, saying, I counted my bats yesterday; it was seven. It’s six now. It was clear that he started to piece it together and went on the hunt for his missing bat. David, after being found out, jokingly claimed, I didn’t take it, I just borrowed it. This got everyone in the room laughing, and Kohli, still trying to get his head around it, asked, Sabko pata tha na? which translates to “Everyone knew about it, right?”

Aside from this light-hearted moment, Kohli also made headlines on the field. During the match, he achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming just the second player ever to notch up a hundred half-centuries in T20 cricket. As RCB chased down a tough target of 174 runs, Kohli played a critical role, holding the innings together. While Phil Salt was tearing it up at one end, Kohli kept things steady and made sure the scoreboard kept moving with his smart batting.
When Kohli hit a ball over the boundary for a six in the 15th over, it marked his 100th half-century in T20s; he was now part of an elite club that featured only David Warner before him, who had an impressive tally of 108 half-centuries. In a match where RCB was clearly finding their groove, Kohli had a bit of luck too. He almost got out early on a delivery from Sandeep Sharma, hitting a high ball that Riyan Parag attempted to catch but ultimately dropped. That moment proved vital as Kohli went on to punish the Rajasthan bowlers, finding the boundaries consistently.
Once Salt, who scored a whirlwind 65 off just 33 balls, was dismissed, Kohli partnered with Devdutt Padikkal to build a solid 83-run partnership for the second wicket. A comfortable 9-wicket win followed for Bengaluru as Kohli ended the chase with an unbeaten 62 runs off 45 deliveries, a knock that included four fours and two sixes. With this win, RCB positioned themselves well in the tournament, sitting at third place with eight points, just behind Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans.
