T20 is over and now everyone is looking forward to Test cricket and the (WTC) World Test Championship final. After two tough years, Australia and South Africa have made it to the final and will play at Lord’s, the home of cricket.
When we think of Test cricket rivalries, we mention India vs Australia or Australia vs England. But the rivalry between Australia and South Africa is pretty under the radar, even though it’s not the first time they’ll be playing at Lord’s.
So, what happened the last time Australia and South Africa played at Lord’s?
The two teams have played 101 Tests and their last match at Lord’s was way back in 1912. Back then there was a Triangular Tournament with England, Australia and South Africa playing each other. In one of those matches at Lord’s, South Africa was bowled out for 263 and Australia scored 390. In their second innings, South Africa could only manage 173 and Australia won by 10 wickets.
