Ben Stokes won the toss and chose to bat first in the third Test against India at Lord’s. Shubman Gill said Prasidh Krishna won’t play, one change for India.
Prasidh Krishna, the fast bowler, played in the first two Tests of the series. But he didn’t impress the Indian team in Headingley and Edgbaston. He took 6 wickets in 4 innings, averaging 55.17 and striking at 62. He also leaked 331 runs at an economy rate of 5.34. With Jasprit Bumrah back, India had to drop Prasidh.
Bumrah missed the second Test to manage his workload but is back at Lord’s. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep have been playing well, so India had to drop Prasidh to make space for Bumrah.
This is the only change for India. Karun Nair and Nitish Kumar Reddy will get another chance to show what they can do with the bat. At the toss Shubman Gill said they would have bowled anyway to take advantage of the moisture on the field.
