Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 to start on June 12, with the grand finale on July 5 at the world’s famous Lord’s Cricket Ground, London. Other matches will be played at Edgbaston, Hampshire Bowl, Headingley, Old Trafford, Kennington Oval and County Ground. Dates and locations were announced May 1 from a launch event at the famous Lord’s.
This 33-match tournament over 24 days will feature more teams than ever before, 12 in number. As Lord’s was the venue for the final of the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup, it makes for greater historical significance. Teams such as India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, England and Australia have already confirmed themselves in the tournament; other teams will be determined through the Qualifiers next year.

“I am sure this confirmation of venues is a defining moment in our preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026,” stated Jay Shah, chair of ICC. He added that this tournament would offer a chance to spectators to see the best names in the game and celebrate quality and spirit in the competition. He added the provision that the UK always extends to all teams great support based on sold-out tickets for the Women’s Cricket World Cup final at Lord’s in 2017, which he references as a highlight for women’s cricket.
The event will see splitting of the twelve teams into two groups of six each followed by knockout rounds and grand finale. New Zealand are the defending champions after beating South Africa by 32 runs in the final in Dubai last October. India have been to the finals only once, in 2020, where they are still hopeful to win their first title
