Allahabad High Court gave Indian cricketer Yash Dayal a temporary reprieve on Tuesday. They stayed his arrest in a sexual exploitation case in Ghaziabad. This happened after Dayal moved court to quash the FIR filed by a woman. She had alleged he had exploited her for five years while promising to marry her.
During the hearing, Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar said they couldn’t believe the woman’s story of being tricked for so long. Live Law reported the judges said, You can get tricked for a day or two, but not for five years.
The FIR was filed on July 6 at the Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad. It was under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The woman had complained through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online system on June 21.
She said she was in a five-year relationship with the 27-year-old bowler, who plays for RCB in the IPL. She said Dayal kept promising to marry her and even introduced her to his family as his future wife, which made her trust him more.
The FIR says she was emotionally, physically and mentally abused during this period. The woman stated that When I confronted him and realized the deception, he subjected me to physical violence and mental harassment. She also said the stress made her depressed and that she had tried to kill herself because of the emotional pain.

Yash Dayal says all this is false. He has also filed a complaint with the Prayagraj police, saying the woman stole from him and lied to him. He said she took his iPhone and laptop and borrowed money by lying.
Dayal said he has proof to support his side of the story. He said the woman’s complaint is not true and is based on false reasons.
