India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has asked the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) if he can stay with them, just a month after he requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to move to Goa. In April, he surprised many by reaching out to the MCA about this move. They quickly approved his request.
In an email to the MCA, Jaiswal said he’d like to withdraw his NOC since his family plans to shift to Goa have changed. I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season! I have not submitted the NOC to BCCI or the Goa Cricket Association! he wrote.

Jaiswal, who originally moved from Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai and worked his way up to make his international debut in the last couple of years, was considering going to Goa mainly because he might have had a chance to be their captain. But with a busy international schedule ahead, he probably wouldn’t have had much time for that role. The secretary of the Goa Cricket Association, Shamba Desai, mentioned earlier that Jaiswal was set to be their captain, especially with the Goa team moving up a level for the 2025-26 season.
