The TATAIPL 2025 has been suspended for one week following consultations with teams, sponsors, and fans. The BCCI took this step in solidarity with the nation amid recent attacks and stands firmly with the Armed Forces and their brave efforts under Operation Sindoor.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is going to be put on hold because of rising military tensions between India and Pakistan. Recently, a match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was canceled halfway through due to a technical issue. Plus, the game set for May 11 between the Kings and Mumbai Indians has been moved to Ahmedabad.
On May 8-9, Pakistan’s military carried out several drone attacks along the western border, which the Indian Army said they managed to counter.

They’ve also reported multiple ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Just a few days earlier, on May 7, India conducted strikes on nine terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as a response to an attack that killed 26 people in Baisaran Valley on April 22. This incident has raised serious security and diplomatic concerns, marking one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in India since the Mumbai shootings in 2008.
As for the IPL 2025 season, there have been 58 matches so far, including the canceled one in Dharamsala. There are still 12 more group-stage games left, which will take place in Lucknow, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Jaipur. After that, the playoffs will be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata.
