Peter Moor, the cricketer who played for both Zimbabwe and Ireland, has retired from international cricket at 34.
Moor started with Zimbabwe before switching to Ireland. Now he’s stopped playing internationals, ending a unique career.
Born in Harare, Moor first played for Zimbabwe in 2014 in an ODI against Bangladesh. He played 49 ODIs and 21 T20Is for Zimbabwe, scoring 827 ODI runs (4 half centuries) and 364 T20I runs (92* his highest score).
In Tests he started playing for Zimbabwe in 2016 and played 8 Tests and 5 fifties.
Later Peter Moor used his Irish heritage (his grandmother was Irish) to start playing for Ireland. He first played for Ireland in Tests in 2023 and played 7 Tests.
His best performance was in July 2024 when he scored 79 against Zimbabwe, his former team. It was his only fifty for Ireland in Tests. His last international game was in February 2025 in a Test match against Zimbabwe where he scored 4 and 30.

He had hoped to play for Ireland in the World Cup but it didn’t happen. His last professional game was on July 10, 2025 for Munster Reds in Dublin, a day before he announced his retirement.
He scored a quick 35 off 16 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. His team won by 100 runs and Curtis Campher was the star of the game, taking 5 wickets in 5 balls.
Although his international career is over, Moor will continue to play domestic and T20 league cricket.
