Ravindra Jadeja is on a roll in Test cricket. He has hit four consecutive half-centuries, only the third Indian to do so in England after Sourav Ganguly and Rishabh Pant.
On the fifth day of the Lord’s Test, Jadeja showed great character. After India was reduced to 82/7 while chasing 193, Jadeja fought hard with the bat. He scored an unbeaten half-century and helped India get close to what would have been a great comeback. He worked well with the tailenders but eventually ran out of partners. England won by 22 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the series.
Shoaib Bashir of England has 10 wickets in three games while Jadeja has three. Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali thinks Jadeja is good at keeping runs down and building pressure but not exceptional with the ball.
He knows what he’s doing, Ali told India Today. He’s been doing it for years. He’s been great with the bat in this series. He hasn’t got many wickets with the ball but he does his job. He’s very accurate. He can bowl but he’s not outstanding.
He’s batting well now. Bowling-wise he just hasn’t got the wickets. He’s bowled well but he doesn’t have the wickets to show for it, he added.

India has Kuldeep Yadav, a great attacking option, waiting on the sidelines for the three Tests. Moeen wants Kuldeep to be included in the team but feels it’s hard to fit him in right now.
I would like to see Kuldeep in the team but I don’t know who he would replace. Washington has bowled well, Jadeja has batted well. So it’s hard to bring Kuldeep Yadav in. I would like to see Kuldeep in but I don’t think they can fit him in, Ali said.
