Guyana Amazon Warriors have brought in Iftikhar Ahmed to replace Hassan Khan for the first three games of the 2025 Caribbean Premier League season. Khan, a Pakistan-born USA player, will be missing at the start.
Ahmed, a seasoned Pakistani cricketer with over 300 T20 games under his belt, will make his CPL debut. His last T20 game was against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the GPL 2025 where he showed his skills with both bat and ball. His big hitting and off break bowling will be valuable for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the next CPL season.
Ahmed has played all three formats for Pakistan with 66 T20Is to his name. His last international game was against India in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Khan will rejoin the Guyana Amazon Warriors after the first three games. He played two games for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the CPL 2024 and did well in the recent MLC 2025 in the USA.

Ben McDermott, an Australian batter, will replace Glenn Phillips for the 2025 season. Guyana Amazon Warriors were runners up in the last CPL season, they won the title in 2023. The 2025 season starts on August 15, Guyana will play their first game against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on August 16.
Coming off a win in the Global Super League, Guyana Amazon Warriors are one of the top contenders for the 2025 season.
