So, Dream11 is reportedly out as the Indian cricket team’s Title Sponsor. Word is they told the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) they won’t be renewing the sponsorship after the new online gaming bill got the green signal.
BCCI is in a bit of a spot now, scrambling to find someone to slap their name on the team’s jerseys before the Asia Cup starts on September 9 in the UAE.
NDTV says Toyota and a fintech startup have shown interest. But hold on, the bidding hasn’t even started yet.
The funny thing is, the Asia Cup jerseys with Dream11’s logo are already printed! But guess what? They won’t be used.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board will follow the rules. If the government says no, we’re not pushing it. BCCI will always follow the country’s laws, he said.
According to The Indian Express, Dream11 bigwigs actually met Hemang Amin, the BCCI’s CEO, in Mumbai to break the news that they were pulling out. A BCCI official said the visit from Dream11 to drop the news means they won’t be sponsoring the Asia Cup, which means BCCI will soon be looking for new offers.
The Asia Cup is set to start on September 9, with the final on September 28. The whole thing will be in the UAE, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi sharing the hosting duties. But the jerseys printed with Dream11’s logo for the Indian team won’t be used.
In 2023, Dream11 signed a deal with BCCI worth ₹358 crore. That included ₹3 crore for each game played at home and ₹1 crore for each game played away.
