Grace Harris, the all-rounder, won’t be playing in the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. She hurt her calf while fielding in the last ODI against India Women in Delhi last week. Big blow for the team as Harris brings a lot of balance with her batting and bowling.
Cricket Australia has picked Heather Graham to replace Harris. Graham is also an all-rounder so she’ll fit right in. The team wants to stay strong and win another title in the subcontinent. They’ve won the World Cup more times than any other team and want to keep that record going.
This is a big opportunity for Heather Graham who’s been added to the squad as Harris’s replacement. It’s been a while since she played an ODI for Australia – her only match was back in October 2019 against Sri Lanka in Brisbane. So this call up is her return to the ODI scene after six years.

But Graham has been busy playing T20 cricket around the world, getting better in the WBBL in Australia and The Hundred in England. She also played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the WPL 2025 season in India earlier this year. All that experience should help her step up for the World Cup. She’ll turn 29 soon.
Australia who won the 2022 Women’s World Cup will start defending their title on October 1 against New Zealand in Indore. Alyssa Healy, the well known wicketkeeper-batter will lead the team. She’ll have support from other star players like Ashleigh Gardner, Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland and Elyse Perry among others. The team looks strong.
