How did 11 people die in a stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the RCB players were being celebrated? Speaking about the incident, Dhumal said that BCCI did not know about the parade which Royal Challengers Bangalore had planned after winning the title. They will now try to find out what went wrong so that no such incident should happen again.
Dhumal stated, “We had no idea about the parade or who set it up, and we’re shocked by how many fans showed up. We’ll investigate this.” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia also said that while the board doesn’t supervise a franchise’s celebrations, this incident should serve as a warning for future occasions: “Every year there’s a winner, and celebrations happen in their city. We need to learn from this and ensure safety for future gatherings.”
Saikia also said that all safety arrangements had been handled when around 100,000 fans had gathered for the final IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium and that everything went smoothly. He observed that they had 132,000 fans at the stadium, and there were no safety issues. But something clearly went wrong today in Bengaluru, and the BCCI can’t be blamed for that.”
